Sara Reinhardt shares her favorite things about working for Tupelo Honey.
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is for celebrating the workers who make America run. And, we want to do our part today in celebrating the 80+ million hourly workers across the U.S. who keep our amazing country humming!
But why do we have this holiday, and what exactly are we celebrating?
Celebrating American Workers
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day is rooted in the late nineteenth century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being. It celebrates the elimination of wage discrimination, retirement security, a safer workplace, paid time off, and tons more.
It also symbolizes the end of summer, back-to-school, and the unofficial end of hot dog season. (Who knew?)
So, whether you spend the day cooking out with friends and family or working another double at the restaurant, take a moment to recognize the millions of frontline hourly workers across the country, people like Sarah Reinhardt of Tupelo Honey (if you're looking for an extraordinary place to work with extraordinary people, you have to check out Tupelo Honey) who help make our country thrive. And, if you have the chance, give one a shout-out, a high five, or even a tip!
